    Goodbye chrome. Hello Firefox.

And maybe in a few years: Goodbye Google apps. Hello FOSS apps

I gave up years ago when I started watching YouTube on my phone with an Iphone. I just get YouTube premium family plan and have two friends that help pay for it, youtube music isn’t as good as google play music but I watch enough youtube on my phone and enough long form content that having multiple adds in the video would be annoying.

I don’t mind paying for youtube premium but if they go for ad blockers for the internet then I will give up and go to brave browser or somewhere else its just not worth it then at that point.

They want eveyone to pay the monthly fee to avoid ads. Then when they accomplish that goal they’ll bring ads back for paid users too.

I’m pretty fed up with the consolidation of the internet into 3 or 4 main corporations. When there’s this much consolidated control the prices go up and the experience goes down.

Hear ye, hear ye, anonymous Internet people for the accouncment of my next step in my war on Googles war on ad blockers: Using their goddamn products even less. Bing and other search engines are honestly not as far behind as memes make it seem. Free Email accounts are provided by at least a dozen other providers, and Open Street Maps and Apple Maps have gotten really good. And Google Chrome has always been an atrocious memory hog.

Are Google products better in some aspects in some use cases? Sure. But the middle finger to goddamn Google is worth it.

YouTube is a dystopian nightmare without adblock. Especially mobile versions. I had a 3/4 page dominos advert and the top quarter of my screen was the video. 2 unskippable adverts before my 3 minute video started. Then another advert inserted randomly into the middle of the video.

I genuinely don’t know how anybody uses YouTube without adblock. Even paying for YouTube premium is a lesser experience than an adblock provides.
