I have absolutely no reference values for this kind of service, but 800 for small developers does sound fair to me (I suppose in most cases, one does not need to pay for more than a year…?) It’s really exciting to see this kind of solution and option for Godot, looking forward to seeing more projects on consoles!

Well, of you update and maintain the game over several years you will, but if we’re being honest, if your game is popular enough to port to console, these costs will be minimal.

I’ve seen that it’s cheaper than Unity, but I personally can’t say

It’s way cheaper than Unity. Unity costs $2040 per seat, whereas Godot/W4 Games is only $800 to $2000 for your entire team (if it’s less than 8 people).

Most games utilising the lowest fee will probably only need that first year for updates anyway. I guess you can always pay back in later down the road if you want to release a big update or something

These prices look very reasonable. I started a project in Godot 4 that I want to eventually get on the Switch (and other consoles), so this is exactly what I was looking for!
