Man, Putin has done a piss poor job of stopping NATO expansion.
Maybe it was his purpose. It’s basically ammo for feeding his narrative about “how the west is bad, look what they make me do”.
I mean the level of mental gymnastics the Russian government has been performing is like 9d chess /s
Having listened to the guy’s crazy interview, I am a bit concerned of how he’ll react.
Something like “Ten thousand years ago when the mammoth walked the earth there was no such thing as NATO, therefore it doesn’t exist.”
The Russians regularly and egregiously violated Swedish airspace, they accused Sweden of producing the Novichok used in the assassination attempt on the Skripals, threatened Sweden with serious consequences (including nuclear threats) if they considered joining NATO, and basically treated them like cunts.
Wonder how NATO forced them to join. /s
Russians viste everyone’s airspace. That’s just how they test us.
Frankly, these NATO expansions and its general re-invigoration are a larger loss for Russia than anything they could possibly gain in Ukraine. Their Baltic fleet is now useless. Kaliningrad is useless.
Combined with all the other damage Ukraine has inflicted on Russia, they’re basically spiralling the drain and I see no possible way Russia could rise in prominence in the future. Even if goodness forbid they were to “win” the current war they’re fighting with Ukraine, that won’t help them, it’ll only hurt Ukraine.
If Russia starts a war with NATO, Sweden would have joined anyways. The biggest hesitation would probably be if Turkey was invaded.
The Republicans possibly leaving NATO is unfortunate, but doesn’t make NATO useless.
The goal of Sweden joining NATO is to have guarantees that other countries would help if Sweden got invaded, unlike what happened to neutral Ukraine.

Oh I know. Just sucks that we have a shity ass right wing party willing to abandon allies we’ve had for 70+ years because they got compromised in 2016 and are to massive a pussy to bite the bullet and choose county over party.
I think they pissed off our ladies so bad they are fucked come election time, but a lot of uncertainty isn’t helping Ukraine fight off the orks.
