“prior to any action that may be taken by sporting and legal authorities.” Did he actually say something illegal or is this similar to El Ghazi?

He shared the video of a preacher saying “health to the hands of Palestinians when they throw stones” or similar.

None of these are serious infringements compared to what Israeli players have been posting, directly encouraging and cheering on unprecedented violence against civilians.

The use of the often-used slogan “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free”, which was shared by El Ghazi, is now classified as a criminal offence by the German public prosecutors. The public prosecutor’s office sees the slogan as an initial suspicion of incitement of the people because it affects Israel’s right to exist.

While nowhere in Europe has the same unerring devotion to “free speech” that the US has, even their laws are about the government and not what private entities can do.

Andddd thats a very good reason to be suspended. Unlike the el Ghazi situation (unless you believe he is so up to date that he knew a slogan from 30-40 years ago used by the PLO to say that Israel should exist).

I don’t understand how these dumbasses don’t understand that saying antisemitic shit or defending terrorists is antithetical to their goal of liberation for the Palestinian people.

I’m of the opinion that the party with the power and financial means to change something should change the status quo, even if that means incurring short term losses that you can’t retaliate, but anyone outside of Gaza defending Hamas can get absolutely fucked. I understand (even if I strongly disagree with) people living there seeing no other option than supporting the terrorist cunts, but people outside the situation should be able to realise Hamas is the worst thing for the Palestinians because they do not promise any other future than an endless cycle of violence and vengeance.

Your comment needs to go to the top.

Jesus Christ that is fucked up. OGC Nice made the right call.

Why would any player post that and think it is okay?

Yeah, but social media is dog shit. There are equally as many people who think Israel is totally within their rights to do a full ground invasion of Gaza that everybody knows will leave a veritable pile of corpses.

Not to engage in whataboutism, just that there exist bloodthirsty whackjobs on both sides.

It’s easy to say when it doesn’t effect you. When you have hundreds of thousands of people, if not more, sharing fake news and blood libels it’s going to spill over into real life unfortunately.

Oh I know that exceedingly well. As somebody who has kept up with the QAnon movement out of simple interest it’s wild the way antisemitism has changed with the times to remain pervasive.

I’m just saying it isn’t exactly hard to find people on social media who think Gaza should just be bulldozed, as well. Social media can be good for gauging social feeling, but it isn’t a forum known for restraint from byperbole.

Oh so it’s okay for Far right politicians to dehumanise and incite violence against immigrants and non whites though! That’s totally fine, according to the government. It’s okay for the dog whistle but not against certain groups.

You honestly can’t see why the ‘others’ are upset in this situation, they have no voice unless it aligns with the perpetrators account.

Apparently it isn’t the same case as El Ghazi. That suspension was Bullshit. This one makes more sense, and I don’t think that storming the comment section of Nice, like yesterday Mainz, from the pro Palestine people helps them. We need to learn to differentiate. I am absolutely for a free Palestine, but wishing the Jews a dark day isn’t the way man.

So many muslim people get angry that european countries are ”silencing” them when they adhere to a religion that dont allow any sort of protest, democracy or free speech

The anger is the hypocrisy, no one has silenced the Ukrainians calling for Russian genocide, you find ways to justify it. Also why are Israeli supporters allowed to say what they want with literally 0 repercussion.

If Sancho really wants to leave United, he’ll just have to post a “Support Palestine” story and he’ll be gonzo
