Drawing interest for a long with Manchester United subsidising 70% of the wages maybe
Feels like almost always there is a player who draws interest from the whole world but then we see some random names, some make sense some don’t and then therebis nothing real happening till almost the end of the window. They should come back when there is really something to report instead of some marketing shit
It’s too late to apologise, it’s too laaaaaaate
Be shocked if he doesn’t have an offer from Saudi already
He spent his entire time in Germany flying back to England. Not sure moving somewhere a 7 hour flight away is something he’s down for.
what a investment by yanited
To me it seemed like great buy at the time and I wanted him at Chelsea. The wages are crazy though.
somehow players go downhill when they join united
On paper it was, watched him at Dortmund and I was sure he was going to be massive at Utd or anywhere else.
IIRC Dortmund bumped up his wages in his last season to keep him happy but also push up any potential transfer and future wages.
I know his wages are huge but if a club can get him on loan in January with an option to buy in the summer, that could be incredible business. Was too good at Dortmund to rule out the possibility of him recapturing that form in the right set up.
The golden handcuffs can’t be dismissed easily. Even if we lowball his wages and say he’s on £12m a year (250k a week) then Manchester United are obliged pay him somewhere north of £30 million before his contract expires in 2026.
Who is going to pick that kind of salary up? Most clubs couldn’t even afford half that and of those who could afford him they’ll either i) have amazing players in his position anyway ii) be really worried about his disciplinary issues or iii) be based in the Middle East.
Sending him out on loan and having Manchester United pick up 50%+ of his salary is a possibility, but are Manchester United willing to take such a financial hit on a guy they have no chance of recouping anywhere near the £75m they paid for him. It’s crazy when you think that just two years ago Sancho was seen as the future of the England national team and now he’s nowhere near the squad.
It will be a Loan+ yanited paying 70% of his wages
What a bellend
I know that this situation is Sancho’s fault, but both the club and the player need to work out and find a solution. Two big egos are just doing harm to the club
He was already given 3 months paid leave at one point. If he can’t even turn up or put a shift in, what is there to be done but ship him out?
If Sancho was performing well before this happened, maybe there might have been some compromise, but he was been shit. Erik has already his all to get Sancho performing, but nothing has worked.
Xavier will save him
Charles Xavier?
Yes Yes… ManU PR team working overnight to brew stories in the build up to Jan window
Why is it that everytime Dortmund sells a player they either do way worse or become one of the best in the world
Let’s see.
Sancho - serious bust Pulisic - ok but mainly bust at Chelsea. Looking better at Milan Dembele - made of glass, so mainly bust at Barca, esp considering the fee
Gundogan - got better, key player and star at City Haaland - got better, super class, best striker in the world Bellingham - better, one of the best in the world Hakimi - got better, one of the best
Anyone else?
I suspect it’s because Dortmund plays a very specific system, and a lot of their players can only succeed by playing in that system. Once they’re asked to do something else, they become completely ineffective.
That’s some insane cope lmao Dortmund has changed a lot throughout the past 7 (wtf) years since Sancho and these recent big sales came to Dortmund
The reason why Sancho succeeded at Dortmund was bc Favre and Terzic knew how to best maximize his output through various off and on the pitch measures, some of these measures of which United won’t go that far into catering which is fair but it is a huge waste of his amazing ability, plus people seem to forget that Sancho also had spells in which he played badly at Dortmund (which could usually stretch to months) yet overall he was amazing
United boned themselves with that contract. Don’t see any options other than Saudi.
I’m sorry but how the hell did you manage to get that username and only sign up for Reddit a year ago?!?!
It’s an illusion
In general, that’s true of the club, but in the case of Sancho, he’s the one boning us with his inability to do anything of value. Even if we were only paying him in meals and high-fives, he’d still be an utter failure.
