The Omega Speedmaster is my favorite watch model. I love the design, history, and variation. The Speedy collection has now grown beyond a single case!

From left to right, top to bottom:

    • X-33 Marstimer (quartz)
    • Grey Side of the Moon meteorite dial
    • Racing dial in red
    • Heritage ‘57 in black/leather band
    • Heritage ‘57 in burgundy/bracelet
    • Moonphase in blue
    • Speedy Pro Apollo XVII Last Man on the Moon on red strap (early 2000s)
    • Speedy Pro series with display case back, copper movement decoration (mid 1980s)
    • Speedy Pro 145.022 with 321 movement (late 1960s) on leather strap
    • Speedy Pro with display case back (mid 1990s)
    • Speedy Pro w/Mitsukoshi dial & hands
    • Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8
    • Ultraman edition
    • Speedy Pro Canopus
    • Apollo XIII 50th Snoopy
    • Hodinkee 10th anniversary edition

New Super Racing on order. Ironically one of the obvious models not here is a current series 3861 Speedy Pro, partly because I can’t decide which version to get.

Speedy lovers, what variants are your favorite?

Fantastic. Of the new version, I was rummaging for a long while which one to get. I have the SS 3861 and I spend lots of time during the day looking at it not even remembering what’s the time after I check it out.

Question. Would you free up a couple of them or something to get a full whack gold speedy? I guess less reasons/heritage to it but boy the green dial one is just beautiful

(Reference hand watch clearly not mine)

Thought I recognized the Ultraman in there - that’s my dream watch. You know how to make a collection!

Possibly wait till January to see if a new 3861 model drops for 2024. I would say likely the sapphire display caseback 3861 though since you’ve got a non-display version on the snoopy. Possibly a Sedna gold speedy on black rubber strap would be my personal next to this collection.

Very niche but the collection within the collection would be a display caseback for each movement variation, 321a/b, 861/3, 1861/3/6, 3861, etc.

Jealous of the Ultraman you got. Have a growing speedy collection myself as well.

I think you need a Speedmaster.

PS Did you push one of those buttons, ever…? Just wonder.

Well, there are themed collections, and themed collections. This would be the latter kind, and it’s a superb collection to boot.

I like people like you because you make me feel less mad for owning 6 speedys. You need to change the hands on your Canopus, I did it on mine and the transformation was amazing.

I put the black hands from the 50th anniversary gold speedy and the subdial hands from the 2015 snoopy. I would post a photo if I could or maybe I can send it by message 🤷‍♂️

I haven’t seen it in person but it does look like a great piece. I find most 38mm watches wear too small for my taste, unfortunately.

You do know you can just buy different straps and swap it out every now and then? You don’t need to buy 10 versions of the same watch fitted with different straps.
