This post violates to sub policy of only posting pictures of Pink where her mouth is wide open and her tongue is sticking out.

How are they banned? Seems like it was readily available for her to hand them out and no one will try to stop it, so…

When will she be giving out these books in places where slavery still exists, women are treated like second class citizens and LGBTQ people are punished by death?

Giving away banned books is now a political meme. Conservative-like singer started doing it, then it became campaign stick, then other started doing it.

Now… troll authors are working hard to get the their books banned, so that they can be distributed by wealthy donors in retaliation.

2027 - it is no longer viable to publish a book unless it has a reasonable chance of getting banned. Publishers secretly conspire to create controversy and increasingly obscure literary genres.

    Don’t look up

What would you call a situation in which a government body explicitly orders that a book cannot be in their library? The fact that the ban is only taking place on a small scale does not change the fact that it is a ban.

I honestly think people are just talking past each other now. Yes, it is a ban; it fits the definition. These things aren’t allowed in those places, thus “banned”.

However, the material being banned isn’t illegal, so the end result just looks like censorship, which the government, private organizations, and even citizens do all the time. If you want the banned materials, just get them wherever they aren’t banned (such as the internet, nearly any retailer, or even this concert if you’re desperate). You won’t be arrested or even detained for possession of any of these books. It’s got the same energy as cutting out a curse in the middle of a televised movie.

It’s just a story that makes people cheer or roll their eyes depending on which side you follow.
