Former president tells Glenn Beck he would have ‘no choice’ but to lock up opponents ‘because they’re doing it to us’

Okay, to anyone who actually supports what Trump is saying and thinks it’s okay, let’s break things down.

First of all, I understand you think it’s okay to do, because you think it’s already being done by Democrats. But regardless of who started it, by saying it’s okay for Trump to do this you are also saying it’s okay for anyone else to do this. Because, if it’s a good thing to do, then it must be a good thing to do by someone you don’t like. If it’s okay to jail a political opponent, then it must be okay to be jailed for being a political opponent, right?

Let’s shift gears here. It’s okay for Trump to unilaterally jail political opponents without due process because you believe Democrats are already doing it to Trump (despite literally going through due process right now). If Democrats really wielded this type of power with as much evil intent as you think, then they would give up the appearance of pretense right? Exactly how Trump is boasting he would do? Wouldn’t it just be easier to throw Trump in a dark hole and forget about him? Not have to worry about all those pesky laws getting in the way?

Here’s a simple challenge to see if something should or should not be done: If the other side did it, would it be a bad thing? If yes, then it should not be done.

“They started hitting me first. So I hit back”

      You:

First of all, I understand you think it’s okay to do, because you think it’s already being done by aggressors. But regardless of who started it, by saying it’s okay for self-defenders to do this you are also saying it’s okay for anyone else to do this. Because, if it’s a good thing to do, then it must be a good thing to do by someone you don’t like.

Your argument has no merit if this were an actual self-defense situation. Which Trump’s followers believe it is. So you’d need to argue that it isn’t a self-defense situation. Your argument wins no one over who needs to be won over.

Or, hear me out, we vote for Biden, you lose, and spend the rest of your shitty life behind bars for your crimes against the American people and the world.

Or, hear me out, we vote for someone who wasn’t alive before the Civil rights act.

Unless you live in a state with Ranked Choice Voting, the only viable options are the incumbent Democratic President, Biden, or the Republican nominee, likely Trump.

I’ll be voting for Biden. Easiest decision of my life in fact.

For a guy who said he wanted law and order and that you cat have a nation without laws, he sure is upset that we’re getting law and order and enforcing the laws.

Do you think… Do you think there’s even a light bulb in there any more? Clearly the lights are not on but I think someone has just run off with the copper in the walls at this point.

it’s not the wiring in his head that I’m worried by.

is there anything resembling neural activity happening in the people who vote for him?

Judging from the speed with which he locked up Clinton, a central promise of his 2016 rallies, no-one needs to worry about this.

His fascism and bigotry aren’t spilling over anywhere, Trump represents a mean streak in society that’s dominated by wealth, eg, fascism. It’s everywhere already, that’s why non-Americans are focusing on Trump. You’ll note that happens in anywhere defined by “Western society”. Australia included. Hell, Qanon’s founder didn’t live in America.

I’m not saying any of this is good or right, but don’t pretend your nation’s fascists will slow down because of Trump. They won’t. They were there already.

The same thing was happening back before WWII. Fascists existed in America before the war. They existed here after too. And Canada. And Australia, etc.

Nah. I still disagree. “Casual racism against Chinese people” has been a mainstay of America since the railroads were built. Probably before.

I mean Bugs Bunny comes to mind, what more casually racist and beloved character is there?

Those guys were all using coded language for decades. Many white kids pick up on that language and adopted it. All while Trump was donating to the Clintons and well before too.

The danger in attributing this all to Trump is that Trump is going to die one day, fascism in America won’t die with him.
