Hello All! I’m looking for some feedback on either of these two watches to help me decide on which to add – the Duckworth Prestex Verimatic or the Bulova Jet Star.
Honestly, I love the throwback look to the watches - their dial design really grabs me. While I know Bulova is a solid brand with a lot of history, I’m not super familiar with their recent offerings and quality level. As for Duckworth Prestex, I’ve only seen them mentioned a few times, and was wondering what type of reputation they have here. Would you generally recommend one brand over the other?
As for the movements, the Duckworth has a Miyota 9039 and the Bulova has a 262 kHz quartz movement. I’m fine with either automatic or quartz. I’ve read the Miyota movement can be noisy, but any other feedback/experience with either movement?
I’ve been eyeing the retro vibes of the Jet Star!
I have the red Jet Star on the bracelet. I am shocked at how much I like this watch. I bought it because I find HAQ very interesting and didn’t yet have a red faced watch. And I already have a Precisionist with the sweeping seconds hand that mesmerizes me, but wanted a Bulova with the same movement that also had a Sapphire crystal. This watch checked those boxes.
The watch is very comfortable, good looking IMHO, has the sweeping seconds hand, and it pleases my inner watch nerd. I have many watches, but am wearing this one right now.
