Let the battle begin! Which one would you pick as GADA from these two?
Rolex Datejust 36/41 in green or Omega Seamater Aqua Terra 150M Shades, also in green.
Spec wise the main difference is the power reserve of 70h vs 55h. I prefer the exhibition caseback of the Omega but Rolex has better bracelet and clasp. I really liked the Omega on my wrist when I tried in the boutique but at this level pricewise the DJ comes in the ring. What do you think?
I just don’t like the minute hand on the seamaster if they could change that it would be easy decision.
Omega
I prefer the magnified 3:00 date but god the hands on the AT are great. Not a fan of the 6:00 date, though. I’ve think I’d rather go for the Rolex because of the magnifier, the date location, and the bracelet
I by far prefer the dial of the omega.
Rolex
I like the look of the Omega better but if I plan on actually seeing the date my old ass has to go Datejust .
Not a fan of the date just. So omega between these two. Either way you are getting an exceptional timepiece
I’m definitely an Omega guy but I’d go the Rolex in this case. Better indices, hands, bracelet and case. Only negative is the bubble IMO. Personally I’d get one without a date function.
AT is close for me in so many ways But I can’t get around the hour hand. On a dial of triangles and points it just looks like a blunt afterthought. OP easily in this matchup
Following are the key practical differences that’s useful for day to day use. Choose based on your needs. Other differences are a matter of preference and it’s subjective.
-
If you are over 40 then the cyclops will come in handy even if you short sight vision is good for now because it deteriorates for many as they age.
-
Bracelet adjustment in DJ is important for many as you can’t do micro adjustments with AT. Especially useful during summers.
-
Size is another aspect. DJ comes in at 36 whereas AT is 38. Both have 41.

Dude
The Datejust.
They are both very attractive watches, and while I prefer the execution of the date window on the DJ, that’s obviously subjective.
On the other hand, the bracelet and clasp on the DJ is much better, and the DJ is thinner at just over 11mm vs the ATs 13mm and change.
Thickness on this AT is 12.3
Come on now. No one really pays full price for an omega so it’s not an apples to apples comparison
Grey market AT! I honestly think the AT is the more interesting watch. It’s also just my view, but small DJs on jubilee look slightly feminine. Dials on both are stunning. You could get two watches for the retail of the DJ, something to keep in mind.
