Any tips? Been an android user for many years and tried iPhone a little bit here and there but wanted to give it another try! I’m a phone nerd I have used so many in the last year alone and still have my Z Fold 5 and Pixel. I want to try the iPhone longer than 2 weeks lol got the 15 Pro max and nice so far so smooth…
Enjoy not having a laggy and buggy OS
Not buggy? I had 2 freezes that required a reset on my IP15PM when I was at the Apple store. I also had a factory reset that soft bricked my phone.
Honestly, I actually do experience more bugs on iOS than android.
Dude, it’s 2023, all phones are very good as standard, most are excellent.
2016 wants it’s pathetic debate back.
It’s been a while since I’ve used an Android the last time and memory might be faded, but I definitely remember Android had a search function. So the notion of searching for information shouldn’t be new to you guys.
So, just out of curiosity, instead of asking the same stupid question 3-4 times every week, why don’t you use the freakin search function?
Shortcuts app is fun to geek over.
People saying replace the keyboard. Guys iphone have the best keyboard and i ll pick it up any day over any other keyboard.
Why is everyone just talking about keyboards lol
iPhone Keyboard is by far the worst aspect of the device. Especially when you compare it to Gboard on Android. It’s embarrassing actually how far ahead Gboard is.
Genuine question - In what way is gboard better?
Tried to look and all I can find are things like a google search button, that it uses how you write to “Improve” it for everyone, and that you can send them voice clips to analyse and make dictation better.
The autocorrect software is like a million times better.
Having said that, still prefer Swiftkey autocorrect over Gboard, plus I can resize the keys for my big fingers.
It’s customisable, it learns much better, dictation is always spot on, you can swear.
If you’re multilingual it works in every language at the same time, you can switch languages mid sentence and it will get it.
Swiping just works tremendously better
If you have the chance grab a pixel 5-8 and just use it for a day. Afterwards iPhone keyboard will feel like a prison for your digital communication skills.
You can also install Gboard on iPhone but it’s very limited in it’s functions.
having just left a pixel 7 for an Iphone gboard’s swipe is noticeably more accurate, its easier to get it to allow swearing etc, it does a great job of learning how you talk and giving super accurate suggestions, I’d say my typing speed has decreased by about 1/3rd. That said, the improvement in the camera has been worth it
For one, it’s missing the swipe to erase words gesture.
iOS has much less feature, it’s a different mentality, a lot of things here you will just need to accept it’s how it is as opposed to android where if you don’t like it you change it so you do like it.
Man you did a big mistake buying 15PM… You should have buy low price iphones like 12,13 etc… Now you stuck with iphone because you will hate iphone if you are a techy guy.
On god this titan frame is shit never can buy a iphone again without stainless
Everything is better than Android. Welcome to the family
April Fools is still 5 months away pal.
Notifications. There is a larger list, but notifications are so bad that they fill places 1-10
Its dogshit lol, it felt like i turned back time when i changed to iphone. Also its not a device you own its a device apple owns, so no apk apps, no customisation what so ever, cameras on iphones are mid unless its a pro, if you want music on your phone you have to get itunes on your pc and transfer it that way, also cant change the order of music in the “songs” list. The keyboard sucks, doesnt have word packs like android did so I cant use flow with Lithuanian or other languages. The fact that theres no button for “close all apps” in app manager is yeahh… Also alarms seem to only work if your ringer is set to proper volume, if ringer volume is on 0 your alarm will also have 0 volume. Basically its a very “Im a pleb” phone.
Basically it’s a very “Im a pleb” phone.
Then it should fit you perfectly based on the basic things you’re complaining about.
iOS is not a flavor of android/linux. Just want you to keep that in mind since I read a lot of reviewers bash iOS for not being able to do in the exact way android allows them to.
It’s a different OS and I think it’s best to go into a new OS/environment with an open mind.
Flip 4 and iPhone 15 pro max user here, different beasts. I love them, although my flip starting make noises everytime I open it. 😅 Within a week or 2 you’ll prolly leatn the basics with the ios, then there are also some hidden tricks, you can find them here and online, must admit some of them I still don’t know. Lol. I love the iphone because it’s less complicated than my adroid phones, on the other hand you can do extra stuff on the android. Oh, and I love the iphone’s family and kid set up.
Be ready for the notifications mess. Yes, it is just like that, yes apple users don’t understand why it’s bad, no, you can’t fix them.
Same boat coming from a S22U to IP15PM - really enjoying the hardware, but the software leaves a bit to be desired.
The layout of the Samsung Galaxy Ultras makes more sense to me - with all the buttons on the right side. The lack of a back button makes one handed use much harder also, forcing the user to swipe from the left side of the screen or a button at the top left of the screen.
I also dislike how you still must swipe up even after unlocking your phone with faceid - this should be an option.
Why does the action button only have a single configuration for long hold and not double press, etc? I could do more on my Samsung’s lock button.
Software wise, I also dislike how hard it is to install an application that is not on the appstore - requiring sideloading and refreshing, as opposed to just installing an APK.
So far, I’ve been using my phone with Google ecosystem products like Google Calender, Google Keep, passwords etc as it’s much easier to access them from the web compared to iCloud.
Camera is better on iPhone imo, since it’s just easier to use and the shutter is much faster.
I’m also using my first ever iPhone after a lifetime of android devices
Overall it is nice but gboard on android is so much better and notification management on Android is leagues ahead of whatever half baked strategy Apple came up with.
