ROFL at Nairobi being in the list, guess the people have created the list have not actually explored it properly.
Im surprised Taipei or Kaohsiung isnt at the top.
A Forbes article? Do I look dumb to you? I’m not even clicking that bullshit.
Milan is not a bad city. For me it’s Bangkok at the top. I love Rome too tbh.
Milan is not great. It’s a congested city and a bit dirty. There’s plenty of other places. Florence for example.
Milan is a good city man. Great clubs like old fashion, just Cavalli etc that have something going on each day of the week. They have student nights on Tuesday and Wednesday. Their metro system is pretty efficient, the trams take you everywhere. The food is decent, women are great looking, it’s walkable, safer than most of the other cities that I have been to. Unless you live in a ghetto like Rozzano etc it’s a good city. Brera, the area around montenapoleone is very beautiful. The bars are great and the weather is not too bad too. Lago di Como and Lugano, two gorgeous places are an hour or so away.
There are pockets of Milan which are bad just like every other city
I wish I could go back.
These days in Milan all you hear is the Islamic call to prayer, feels like being in Istanbul.
I had no idea. I spent a few weeks in Milan a few years ago and did not hear that Islamic call to prayer. Is that a new thing? Why did it start?
Milan is a real living breathing city while Florence is a time capsule tourist city. I say this in the best way possible for Florence, I loved the time I spent there. But living there for an extended period time sounds less appealing to me than a vacation. I spent several weeks working in Milan and living the day to day, and found it to be a great place to do exactly that.
If I didn’t have to be in Milan I’d probably live somewhere around lake como (not como or bellagio etc. because they get insanely crowded) and then you’re only a train ride away from Milan if you feel like shopping or whatever. Milan would be a fantastic hub though, super connected train station, airport

Seoul being at the bottom 10 is insane…like that makes no sense.
No porn ?
Culture shock, low rate of English-speakers and relative high-cost.
These are the kind of expats that land in another country and head straight for the nearest Irish pub, complaining about how nobody speaks Engish along the way.
relative high-cost isn’t a small factor
We keep Mexico on the down-low. The Oaxaca coast. Wow! Just on another planet.
But keep it quiet. :-) shhhhhhhhhhh
Mexico City is really awesome. Before they build a wall to keep us out, suggest a trip.
:-)
Did they write the list in reverse or something?
What a great list, it’s no better than this one:
- Shepetivka, Ukraine
- Cairo, Egypt
- Ry, Denmark
- London, Canada
- Leticia, Colombia
- Oulu, Finland
- Mandalay, Myanmar
- Cleveland, USA
- Fugging, Austria
- Ostrava, Czech Republic
Oh hey, checking in from number 4! Hit me up if you want a tour. I can show you the flea market and the farmers market. Maybe the gym.
Lmao, i’d like to hear the unironic case for why cleveland deserves to be on this list.
Pretty cool, actually plan to visit Alicante and Valencia in Feb. Will prob skip Malaga.

Idk why I expected Lincoln, NE
My list: Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Phnom Penh, Jakarta, Manila. I guess my favorite region is obvious
Jakarta 🙄 ?
The weirdness is explained by the methodology and the subjectiveness described here in case anyone was wondering. https://www.internations.org/expat-insider/2023/city-ranking-methodology-40427
Muscat is a surprising inclusion, everything I’ve heard about it is that it’s lovely but heavily car-dependent, has crap internet and is a little boring.
