I got the older version of this watch in black as my first real watch in the mid 00s. Freaking love it. Put it on a nato strap since the rubber one was starting to degrade a bit and lose it’s stretch. The watch is easily 15 years old and still working fine, battery is probably a little weaker than it used to be but I just throw it in the windowsill every few weeks and it’s fine. Movement is still accurate to within 30 seconds or so per month. I love the look of the case with the colorway through it, makes it look more industrial than just a plane case style

Eco-drives are great, and this is a really nice looking one! It has a bit of a Longines Conquest kinda vibe.

You really can’t go wrong with a Eco Drive, and that is a good price.

Yeah I have the solar eco drive and it’s my go to when I don’t want to set a mechanical.

I love mechanicals but I tend to wear a different watch everyday and it gets old setting the time over and over.

I have been looking at several different watches but this is the one that really stands out to me, looks but also price. This would be my first “nice” watch. I had a stupid Samsung smartwatch but I didn’t like being attached to my phone so I bought a g-shock ga100-mb-1a. I like not being tethered to my phone with the gshock and have wanted a nicer watch for a bit. Please let me know what you think or if you think there is a better option. Only finishing up high school so I do not really want to go above 200usd.

I have the Promaster Skyhawk from Citizen now since 2015.

It’s a daily for me and I work in a very physical job. I have a bit of wear but the thing is bullet proof.

Eco drive is amazing too, most cheaper battery watches I bought had maybe 2-3 years on them before dying. Eco drive just keeps going.

      Hello!

I’m probably rehashing what others have said but my 2¢ in a nutshell:

      • If you like that watch, you want to own it, and it’s in your price range, get it. :)
      • in my opinion, that is a nice watch. So, I agree with you and we have at the very least, some overlap in watch preferences. :)
      • That being said, what constitutes a nice watch is such a subjective thing. You’ll hear this a lot from others, but screw what others think. You do you.
      • citizen eco drive are a solid, popular watch line, also they are also not too hard on the wallet. It’s a solid solar powered quartz that you can just grab and go at any time. Can’t go wrong with it.

This is a nice first watch! Well done. I have a couple EcoDrives and never had issues with them.

Honestly man; I used to have a few Seiko and Citizens that I got rid of; had you posted something like this maybe early last year. I would have just given you all of mine.

Eco Drives are great. I’m sure you’d be happy with that watch. I would consider whether you would like an automatic watch more. Once I started buying automatic watches with sweeping hands I haven’t bought another Quartz watch since. You can find some great Seiko watches in your price range. Check some of them out and best of luck in your search.

my eco drive is 23 years old and still accurate AF. That is a sharp looking watch and would be pretty versatile. Go for it.

My only gripe with my eco drive is that “CITIZEN” is written on the crystal, not the face of the watch. Couldn’t tell from all the pictures, was a disappointment when I got it. It’s not this model though, one of the star wars ones.

Check that it’s sapphire and also check the thickness. Some citizens are thicc bois that don’t slider under most cuffs.

Also check out prices on OfficialWatchDeals on Ebay.
