I’ve been collecting watches for the last 8 months. I have around 40 watches, and here are 16 of them. My favourites among them are the 1970 Datejust and the 1969 Universal Polerouter. I’m quite a thrifty guy, so besides a few splurges, most of them are below $200. I like vintage watches and tinker with them as a hobby. What other watches should I look out for?
My man you need a Calatrava. One and done!
Wait - I don’t understand. Wonderful watches, but how did you get a Rolex / Speedy / Universal for sub $200? By all means, share your secrets!
I kindly ask you to hand over that Zenith… stunning watch. Love the eterna too, have a 1960s Eterna KonTiki myself (on my profile). What about adding another vintage Chronograph as I only see one there? Something with an Excelsior Park or Valjoux movement?
40 watches in 8 months? How?
WOW. Stunning.
The Piaget is so cool.
Love these, some of those dials are stunning. Where do you mostly hunt for vintage?
Now this is cool.👌🏼
Great classic collections…the bottom blue Helvetia looks amazing.
Dude the bottom right. It’s gorgeous.
8 months?? Good luck in 5 years when 16 vintage omegas need service
That’s why I’ve picked up watchmaking as a hobby. I can take them apart and replace parts as needed
Love it. Digging the vintage pieces.
What’s your go-to source for finding vintage watches? Ebay? Chrono24?
Look out for these
- Excelsior Park
- Gallet
- Angelus
- Gruen
- Nivada Grenchen
Fantastic collection! Some real beauties in there. Particularly like the Vulcain, the Polerouter, and the Record.
Vintage Longines has some great value too – they put out some amazing designs from the 1940s through to the 1970s.
I love the font on ETERNA. Kind of an old horror movies poster vibe.
Yes, they have the coolest font among all the watches I have. Art Nouveau meets Bauhaus?
I have one of similar vintage with numerals also in a similar font . I can’t figure out how to post a picture from an iPad even in desktop view though.
What model is the Dugenamatic ? Wonderful face; all very classy watches
