Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week?
51·23 hours agoGot another mastery achievement in Hitman. Just three or four left now I think.
I’m also playing some Oblivion again. Started a new playthrough, it’s been probably a year since I’ve touched the game so I thought I’d pick it up again. It’s been fun. I missed this game.
Ah makes sense, thanks. How can you view that stat? I’m curious what mine are.
How do you see that stat? And what are the numbers specifically?
I must’ve had the luck of the gods or something for that fight. Phase two ended on my first attempt fighting her, but something felt off. Then she raises and goes into a third phase. The adrenaline from “beating” her was enough that I managed to get her first try. I’ve only fought her once since but also beat her first try. It’s a damn tough fight and I feel like I’ve worked harder and done better on fights that I’ve lost, but I can proudly say that Sister Friede has never killed me and I’ve killed her twice. 😎

Leopards Ate My Face@lemmy.world•A gut punch in Ohio: Nearly 1,400 laid off at truck factory just days before Trump rallyEnglish
10·2 days agoI’ll be honest, at first I read it as “I Got Punched In Ohio” and before reading the rest was wondering why that’s a news headline. Made me laugh when I realized.
Mike Johnson living under Dwayne Johnson.
Kurt Cocaine is what my wife calls him.
She said it by accident one time when we were first dating and I laughed so hard I almost pissed myself, so the name has stuck.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you really want to do so bad, but can't?
2·5 days agoGet a good paying job I don’t hate. I don’t have to love it, but something that pays really well that I don’t mind doing.
I’ve got nothing past high school and can’t afford to go to school at this point. Trying to support a family on a grocery dept manager salary isn’t very easy, but I don’t know what job I could even do without going back to school first.
I always pack two meals. I can’t eat much in the mornings, so I pack a breakfast and a lunch. Before work I usually just have something really small, either a small bowl of cereal or a single slice of toast or maybe a small muffin or something. Then I pack a wrap of some kind for my first real meal. I’ve been a big fan of Buffalo wraps the last 6 months or so, but I’ll mix it up sometimes with something else. Today was more of a citrus marinade with chicken thighs and rice. Then for my second meal, usually leftovers from whatever I had for supper the night before. In the odd chance I don’t have anything left over, I’ll make something the night before that resembles a typical supper meal, or maybe buy something but that’s pretty rare.
I have it in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack as my lunch usually hangs out in my car the whole day.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Is this true in Germany aswell?English
3·6 days agoYeah their customer support has always been great in my experience. I got an offer from bell to switch a few months ago and it would’ve cut my price down a bit but it wasn’t worth dealing with them again. TekSavvy has been a great experience all around so I choose to stay loyal to them. The lower cost of bell or rogers isn’t worth the headache.

5·6 days agoI love TekSavvy, they’re the only ISP I’ve used that I haven’t had completely horrible experiences with. In fact, I’ve been with them for the last ~3 years and haven’t had a single complaint yet. My parents have been with them for even longer, probably around 10 years, and same deal. No issues.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something that you used to consider “cheap” that you can’t afford now?
1·7 days agoYeah that’s part of the problem too, now that I’ve seen the light I can’t go back. So it’s not even like I can do specialty as a treat and still keep drinking cheap coffee during the week, now all that cheap coffee tastes terrible to me. I never used to mind it before. I never really enjoyed it much, but it did the job. But now when I drink coffee I’m analyzing it for tasting notes, acidity, body, all that. It’s definitely a lot of fun and I have no regrets but I can’t drink crappy coffee anymore without having an unpleasant experience. I’ll still drink it if it’s my only option but it bothers me more now than it used to.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something that you used to consider “cheap” that you can’t afford now?
4·7 days agoWhiskey and beer. Though I’ve replaced them with specialty coffee which is getting more and more expensive so I’m not sure that was the wisest financial decision…
I am indeed off work late tonight and a super early morning tomorrow morning, and I am indeed very hungry and have zero energy to cook. I also have a large jar of olives that haven’t been opened yet. Hmm. This seems like a great idea. Thanks OP!

That looks super cool. Definitely added to my wishlist. Thanks for the rec!
