I love it. Never understood the hate for the French. I sometimes mock their accent out of admiration (same with Dutch). It sounds so nice to me. Once came across a woman who spoke in a French accent in Overwatch, rolled her R’s forever and it sounded so attractive.

These look more like 20l boobs to me! Certified jugs!
Oh… a random bookmark folder in my browser…

Maybe not “the people” who are doing the oppressing, but it worked when appealing to the individual.
Society is a bit of a bitch… individuals hold their own beliefs, but when paired with other people, their beliefs get washed down and a singular belief takes hold.

1·4 days agoIt probably had a good reason to shock you! /s.
By design, SCART carries low voltage, not enough to shock someone. The device it was connected to could have been faulty or badly grounded and leaked higher voltage into the connector though. So its plausible.

20·4 days agoSCART was ahead of its time. You could control connected devices with it like HDMI CEC. You could wake up devices through it. You could daisy chain devices together with it. A TV could sent its TV signal down to a SCART connected device from its tuner! No equivalent for this exists today, unless there’s TV that do HDMI OUT! By the end, it could do 1080p!

Tourism taking all the parking in your small European town?
Can’t park at the only town store because tourists are everywhere and I can’t park my car and don’t want to be a dick and leave it on the street with 4 blinkers on like any random BMW douche?
Go home hungry and wait till the next day?
Yeah, I’m laughing in European too.

7·5 days agoI get why they did it, but its a shame they made it a standalone device. That itself drives the cost up, now even more so with memory shortages.
Alternate take: how my current PC looks at me.
Me, a programmer, without any formal education, eating popcorn and reading the comments.
Just a little bit of impostor syndrome tonight boys, feelin’ good otherwise :D

Truth. This is sadly something you learn after landing your first job, not before.
My eye opening moment was seeing the technical guy at the interview light up when I said I’m open to learning their domain knowledge. I didn’t have a degree, but I made up for it by showing interest in the field by doing my own projects, as a hobby. I was the only guy in the department without a degree for a long time.
First job hunt took a while, second and third was basically on the spot, first application sent.

Games@sh.itjust.works•What game did you hate even after sinking a lot of time into it?English
12·11 days agoDota 2. 2000 hours and I mostly played in 3k mmr games. The game was fun, especially when I had 2 more friends to play it with and we were the majority of the 5 team and could turn the game in our favor. Playing with less people was 50% of the time a miserable experience, 30% of the time neutral and 20% actually fun. The team mates were just too conflictive in most games I played and the negativity just ate me down. I also didn’t love the game as much to keep up with its constant changes. The last meta I remember was making Luna illusions to slowly chip away at towers till the game is over.

Yeah, you know, I wasn’t really around then. And I don’t believe in making fun of someone because their ancestors were dicks.
