Systemd on a server is disaster.

Try “Death Door”. It is as hard but fun to play.

And if you disable animations, you still have to wait for focus. But the worst behavior is when you minimize a window and later cmd+tab to it and all windows just lose focus.

It is a planned obsolescence.
