6·7 days agoThis kind of baseless accusation of “AI slop” is actually harmful to legitimate businesses. The brewery in question, which I know well (based in Montreal, Canada), has this visual identity from way before genAI was commonplace.
Ex:

50·22 days agoI’m going to hold off purchasing gaming hardware for as long as possible, the market is simply ridiculous right now.
Even if you can’t play the game, the fact that the disc is required to play the game as a method of license management still holds inherent value.
Just because Sony locks you out, it doesn’t negate the resale value. And even if Sony kills your account and blacklist your console, there would be nothing stopping you from buying a new PS5 and play it completely offline with a local account. You’d be SOL with digital-only licenses.
What it does is that it moves the license management from a physical thing you own and can trade for, to an account-based digital license that is centrally managed by the platform owners.
What happens when the platform reaches its end of life, or if an account is stolen, has a different outcome based on physical vs digital.
Fuck right off. I served as a medic, and some of my friends who did tours came back with all sorts of trauma from the patients they tried to help. They did what they could to make the world a better place despite the atrocities of war.

10·28 days agoI agree that no one should fear for their life because of their job, but maaaaybe if you did your job to serve the people instead of the oligarchs you wouldn’t need to be protected from it.
63·29 days agoIt’s a bit sad, because archive.org is unable to capture some websites that archive.is is able to.
So you either get an imperfect host that is able to capture it (with a dubious integrity record), or you have a void where some stuff cannot be archived and you end up with a void.
IMO storing Passkeys in Google Password Manager is a bad idea in general.
