Well she does talk to him like you would scold a 3 year old. She treats her dog with more respect. She also doesn’t seem to want him to be a person, just simply to exist as her toy.
Technically it’s both their business if they’re going to be married. He is clearly very frugal and she definitely isn’t.
He just got there and he doesn’t know what she makes or how she spends her money. So if she has a coffee fund that is her business. He also doesn’t want her to take her dog to the vet because she should be supporting his family. He’s a bum.
NY is not a community property state. He has no right to her money, now, or when they’re married. Each persons income is their own property.

Definitely not. People are always surprised at how many drinks I carry with me, but I do not open them all at once or expect other people to hold them for me while I drive.

Fathers are sometimes harsher than mothers (and vice-versa).
I know a south Asian woman who dated a guy for a few years who’s dad was pretty racist towards non-south-Asians, so she hid the relationship from him for quite a while.
The plan she came up with, with her mom’s help, was to slow-roll the roll out of the relationship over a few years. Mom knew everything and started planting seeds with dad, talking about love is love, she wants her daughter to be happy etc etc
When dad was finally introduced to the boyfriend he was relieved, given the hints and work that had been put in he thought his daughter was gay.
In these patriarchal cultures sometimes you have to protect yourself, even if it means not doing the things that are “most true” to yourself.
