You wanted to read the book, you were excited to crack it open, you came into it with good faith and anticipation… but you ended up dnf-ing it. Which book and why?

Mine was The Maid by Nita Prose. It was for my book club and looked like a fun murder mystery. Instead I got instant manic-pixie-dream-neurodivergent-girl vibes, and I noped out before the crime scene was even found.

Totally respectable opinion since it’s based on the fact that YOU READ THE WHOLE BOOK. I don’t understand how people think reading 2 pages (or less) of a 1000-page book is sufficient grounds to put it down. I personally am a fan of the book and Rand (though I strongly prefer The Fountainhead), but that has nothing to do with it. I would defend any work of art from the attacks of people who have never taken the time to actually give it a chance.
