i spent like $400ish last year for a $20 x570 mobo that only needed a coin cell holder soldered back on and 32gb of ddr4 and a 5800x3d cpu, was coming from a x79 build so really felt like a good optionon a budget. replaced my 980 ti this year with a 6950xt for about $500, so i figure in about 4 or 5 years i will just jump to am5 or the now new hedt platform on the cheap! lol
the last amd system i had was am3 with a athlon II x3 rana cpu i unlocked to a phenom II x4 was my first all new parts build, then i had a new Haswell i5 set up for a while and sidegraded to a used x79 build with a xeon 1680 v2 i got locally for cheap that is still in use by a friend. amd has always been the better value though at least when buying new parts.
