Some cultures are very gregarious and lively. They like loud music, speak to each other loudly, etc.

Which cultures have you found to be more reserved? Not necessarily cold or rude, just not as loud in public?

My apartment in Manhattan was right above the avenue where all the parades start. In the summer there was a parade every weekend, and the music would wake me up at 6am when they started practicing. Puerto Rican day parade, Mexican, Irish, all the countries, with their music and dancing. All summer long.

Then one day I slept till noon. I was surprised, “oh i guess no parade today.” I left for lunch later and turns out there *was a parade that day, but for one of the Nordic countries. I guess they celebrate calmly and quietly? 😅

This. I’ve sat next to Finns who could just sit there and have a good time without uttering a word.

Depends, Norwegians most these days are old (it’s just the opposite of a baby boom here in Norway)

And they enjoy slow romantic ish, boring old guy music

Yeah, do they travel often? I don’t really see them around when travelling compared to other groups

*Until they have (a) drink in them.

The time they have drink in their hand is still quite unless it’s not the first drink they’re holding. And most likely the bottle, glass, cup, liquid container etc is empty anyways.

“In their hand” is right because they have awesome repertoires of drinking songs.

Then it’s just the annoying binge drinking / black out drunk behavior. I get 2nd hand embarrassment so much in norway because they’ve normalize this lol it’s not even fun being out past 11pm because it’s out of control and purge like
