Some cultures are very gregarious and lively. They like loud music, speak to each other loudly, etc.

Which cultures have you found to be more reserved? Not necessarily cold or rude, just not as loud in public?

I’m American living in the Netherlands since 1994. Going back to the US is absolute havoc on my ears. Though i must say in the time i’ve been in NL, the Dutch have gotten louder. It used to be pretty quiet here.

LOVEEE the Americans, so outgoing, friendly, sociable, spontaneous, fun, not taking themselves seriously and chatty people. Feels alive to be with a bunch of Americans, feels like talking to humans but robots.

Except brits/Irish and some greeks/spanish/Southern italians the entire EU is socially so devoid, reserved and cold. Its a night and day difference.

Say what you will about America but people and social skills/manners are their biggest strengths.
