Now that things have settled, and the cigar smoke has cleared… do Pierce deserve a HC opportunity with the Raiders? Are the Raiders playing better because of Pierce or in spite of McDaniels? I wonder how Mark Davis is going to look at the job by Pierce.

I like what AP has brought to the table but whatever we do I don’t want another HC who also calls the offense. Chucky and McFuckface were too arrogant with their playbooks and just kept doing the same shit over and over and never made adjustments. I want a HC who is a bonafide leader, decisive, and lets his coordinators cook. Even more importantly, NO FUCKING VISORS!!!

It really comes down to what you value from the Head Coach. If you think the HC’s main job is to motivate his players and get them ready to play, AP deserves a shot. If you think Xs, Os, and scheming is more important, especially on offense, then there are better options.

I say let him cook. He’s obviously beloved by the team. I want to see what personnel he can surround himself with. If he can provide the big picture and boost morale while getting guys he can trust to coordinate play-by-play, we could have a really solid team (maybe).

I want to see him get a shot. See what he produces being the lead manager of the team, more or less. I don’t think a HC needs to provide anything more than what I listed above. Obviously a bonus to know how to scheme, but not absolutely necessary if he finds the right people to do that for him

If the season ended yesterday I’m not sure I’d be ready to hand the keys to the big office over to AP without seeing who else might be an option. His clock management and not going for it on 4th down in certain situations leaves a few question marks about his performance. That said, he still has five more chances to audition and I’m very excited to see what he can do in that timeframe

Still way too soon to tell. We won two we should and lost two that we should. We’re going into a bye with a lot of winnable games left.

    Vikings Chargers Chiefs Colts Broncos

Chiefs are an L. The rest we should be able to compete and win. 3-2 would be my goal. Anything less than that and I doubt AP gets a chance. 4-1 and there’s a real chance he gets it.

Realistically, we’re going all new GM/HC in the off-season. AP is a great story and the team is competing but I just don’t see us sticking with him.

    •We blew a 14 point lead

•Got outscored 31-3 to end the game

•Only scored 3 points in the last 42 minutes of the game.

If this game happened under McDaniels there would be 30 posts by now about how awful those 3 stats are and how he must be fired immediately. Obviously Pierce is an interim so he shouldn’t be held to the same exact standard, but he also doesn’t completely get a free pass and shouldn’t just get handed the job with those kinda performances.

Too many people are going full Bisaccia2.0 and Carr2.0 with Pierce and AOC. I don’t think either has blown their chance yet, but they also both haven’t proved that they deserve their spots long term. The rest of the season will tell the story.

Smoke has not cleared. We still have 5 games left and real evaluation will depend on how we finish the season. Since AP and staff can mix things up during bye week, more are expected than last 4 games.

IMHO, the head coach is in charge. He needs to motivate, run the team, and get coaches who share his philosophy. I live near Buffalo, NY. McDermott is ruining the team because he is trying to do too much. I don’t believe the excuses I hear of why DC Frazier is sitting out the year. I wonder if there was more to it than what’s told!!! Either way, Sean is doing the team a disservice!! I believe AP is showing to be a leader. He surrounds himself with good coaching, and then we can get a good idea if he works out!!!

I think experience matters. Ideally, you have a leader and manager in the same person.

We witnessed McDaniels as a manager, but not leader. Gruden was both.

Pierce seems to be more of a Leader type who would need to be surrounded by high-caliber managers (OC, DC, ST coaches) and be able to define how they will be accountable and hold them to it.

Personally, I like the Leader + Manager in a single person …but it’s rare as we see.

If you keep Pierce you need an assistant head coach to help with time outs and strategy. I wouldn’t mind Steve Spugnolo from the Chiefs it weakens an opponent and a head coach lot of assistants would flock to.

I wonder how the Pierce regime would have been received by Raider Nation if those Miami and KC games were their first two games.

I like AP, and I think it could work with a good team of coaches around him.

But, do we even know if he would want it? He said in a presser he doesnt know how coaches do it for 30 years because of the stress, and he looks rightfully stressed on the sidelines.

wait til the end of the season. Good thing AP meets the rooney rule requirements off that bat. Makes it that much easier to hire him without too much nfl intervention

I like Antonio but if Harbaugh is available, you have to go get him. A proven commodity is hard to pass up.
