RM has finally released the long-awaited line drawing tool that allows you to draw a straight line, with the ability to move the line around before releasing it.
Release notes: https://support.remarkable.com/s/article/Release-notes-overview
I am a little disappointed that they didn’t include the ability to draw a circle and have that snap to smooth circle as does the line.
I hope the following upgrades are on the horizon:
- Snap-To for squares, rectangles or circles.
- The ability to move or extend a line after it’s been released.
- Pop-up rulers on the horizontal and vertical.
Keep up the great work !!!
Now if I could just get the desktop app to install on Windows I would be a good shape. It keeps saying illegal byte sequence!
Line drawing works less than 10% of the time for me. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
Draw the line, and hold firmly at the end. Don’t pick up the pen first. when the line snaps, you can move it at angles and once you pick up the pen it’s locked in place
There is a bit of technique to it. Draw a line then at the end of the line, hold the stylus in place and in a second or so the line will snap straight. Once that happens if you keep the stylus on the surface of the RM, you can then move the stylus around and the line will follow.
I noticed that wavy lines will not snap straight if they are too wavy, if that makes sense.
Do I just buy the new and Better remarkable everytime? I write children’s plays and have been using it to write fantastically organized scripts EXCEPT scrolling pages quickly . My 8 y/o student said “miss X, your Remakable isn’t very Remarkable…” sigh. Mouths of Gen Alpha Babes.
The desktop app 3.8.0 however has broken screen share – MS Teams can’t see the new pop up window. ARGH
Are you sure it’s a problem caused by remarkable? Try another meeting app
Yes. I have registered a bug with them and they confirmed it.
The new screenshare doesn’t open up a top-level window, so Windows doesn’t see it properly on the taskbar, causing some apps (such as MS Teams and others) not to see it when you need to find a window.
