Is there anyone who runs Forza Horizon 4 on Nvidia now, please tell me what you have done, because this post from 10 months ago does not work anymore, and why do I say anymore, because looking at ProtonDB it looks like it did two months ago.
I have tried multiple configurations, such as:
- Lowest settings (did give me better results, but still crashed while loading into a race)
- Launch options PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr12 %command%
- Following the steps in that post
- Different Proton Versions
I have not yet tried to update the Graphics drivers, but 535 still gives me problems with a single game.
I would also be happy to hear what you AMD users have experienced as I plan to buy a SteamDeck soon.
My specs are:
i7-6950X
GTX 1080Ti
40GBs DDR4 3200MHz
Works fine for me with X11, 535 and Proton 8.0-3. No tweaks, no launch options. Just a single caveat: MSAA must be disabled.
Man, I gave up trying to run the Forza games under Linux. I run them from a headless Windows virtual machine with a dedicated GPU and stream them with Moonlight.
wayland + nvidia does not work for me outside of the desktop. even then it’s buggy and i cant ptt. just relog in x11 and you can play
i’d also try 545, that’s what i’m on now
I cannot use X11 because of my mixed refresh rate monitors (which are not actually mixed, they both support 75Hz, but there is no way I managed to set a custom refresh rate on my secondary).
545 is pretty bad and flickery for me, also OBS does not work well with it.
