      Why can Elon Musk turn Grok into a nazi but Deepseek’s creators can’t make their AI be pro-CPC/Communism? Is it really that hard to change the opinion of an LLM once it’s trained on specific things?

        It is, to a degree. It recognises that Taiwan is Chinese, for example. (Which on its own netted the CPC a lot of criticism) I think part of the reason is that the CPC doesn’t want to give countries in the imperial core more ammunition to use against them, and might give them an incentive to ban DeepSeek with the justification that it’s Chinese propaganda, like they did with a Chinese news outlet that I can’t remember the name of.
