I really hope this question isn’t just a stupid one, but I ordered the new 1TB deck and a docking station then thought, how would I play it docked? Is there a secondary controller I would need to order? Or am I casting the game to the screen and I just use the deck? But then it wouldn’t be docked lol…
I use an Xbox controller. Depending on the game I also use a wireless keyboard and mouse.
Bluetooth/wireless controller/keyboard.
My go-tos for each are an old Xbox One S bluetooth controller and a Logitech K400 Plus Wireless KBM all-in-one.
I just use a long USB-C extension connected to a USB-C Hub (Hub behind TV, USB-C extension makes the Steam Deck like a wired controller). Because I can no longer stand not having access to dual-trackpads.
Either a long hdmi cable along the wall to my recliner, or my xbox one controller(s). I have fun in emudeck with marioparty 3 and my 3 kids. The youngest always wins lol. Bluetooth comes in handy.
I use a Stadia controller x2, once updated to the latest firmware from Google, it connects via Bluetooth, and supports rumble too.
I use Xbox Series controllers over Bluetooth.
The Steam Deck is ‘just a PC’ and just like any PC, you can pair a wide range of controllers to the device. Heck, I use an infrared remote on my Deck when docked to control Kodi for media. :P
DS5 controller, it’s got gyro and a TouchPad so it is the most equivalent mainstream controller to the deck. I also got a female to female coupler and a 10ft usbc cable so that if I really want to, I can use the deck as a controller while it’s docked
