Millenial guy here who grew up playing NES, SNES, N64 and PS1, I wonder if there are younger people who are into these consoles or even older ones like Atari 2600, if you like or don’t like what are the reasons for that?
26, so a bit outside your age range. But lots of my favorites are from before my time. Super Metroid, Planescape: Torment, and Morrowind are all in my top 10.
I also got into fighting games this year, so I’ve spent a lot of time going back to old Capcom fighting games like SF2, SF3, and the Darkstalkers games.
Nice, the 90s were the top years of the fighting games.
yea cus my mom had many retro thinks like gameboy or NES i grew up with it and i still love classic like super mario bros or donkey kong
Such a cool mom.
I’m 25 and my personal favorite is GameCube. N64 games feel nearly unplayable at this point just because of how spoiled we’ve become but I didn’t play ocarina of time and major as mask on the switch 64 emulator. It’s fine but I feel like all of the really old games that are still worth playing have been remade with quality of life upgrades
The thing bad in N64 IMO is the strange controller.
Some of my favorite games and series are retro (25), grew up playing them as well. I regularly play and try out older games and try to complete them, and usually I have a pretty good time.
I just played Banjo Kazooie for the first time, I didn’t know I was missing all the time.
This feels so sus.
OK
16 y/o here, I pretty regularly play GBA games and I have some of the S/NES games on my Switch that I like
Nice
I have always been interested in retro gaming, although, where I live it’s pretty hard to acquire consoles and games. I have a stigma around emulation, it just doesn’t feel authentic. If you count PS2 & OG xbox era, then I do enjoy retro gaming.
Doesn’t the outdated mechanics feel weird for you?
