I just bought an apartment and I am in the process of buying some furniture. I have purchased an LG C3 OLED tv, and a Denon DHT-S216 2.1 All in One soundbar.

I have never used a soundbar before. Does it matter if I put the soundbar on the first shelf of the TV unit in the photograph attached? Will this make the sound quality worse compared with putting it on the top shelf? I think it would look a lot tidier to have the soundbar on the first shelf, and I would find putting the soundbar on the same shelf as the TV distracting when watching. Because it is a 2.1 soundbar, then in theory it does not have upfiring speakers so it shouldn’t make a difference to sound quality right? I don’t want to commit to mounting the TV yet as I’m not sure if I will change the layout of the living room in the future

I know that soundbars are not recommended on this subreddit but I can’t afford a home sound system at the moment. And because I will be living in an apartment, I don’t want a system with an external subwoofer which could potentially annoy my neighbours.
