I’m still on a 10700k and skipped the whole Alderlake / Rapterlake / Raptorlake Refresh LGA 1700 platform. Just wondering how many Intel users out there also completely skipped the current platform and are waiting on what’s next in 2024.
I mostly just game at 4K 60fps and so far for the games I play my system is still holding up really well (paired with my rtx 3090). How about you guys?
i9-9900K 5.1/4.8 + super tuned 32gb 4266c16 33ns latency. Will slap 99% of base zen3 setups in games and overall snappiness. Good enough for years to come.

I am more than happy on my non-K i7-8700 with an RTX3070. I am not sure what worthy games I am missing, playing in 1440p. Before that I had an overclocked i5-2500K , 2011-early 2018, and it only started to show age because it wasn’t equipped with hyper threading. I think people vastly overestimate the importance of CPUs in gaming.
Meh at 4k you can get away with even older cpu than 10700k.
I am on i5 2300(2nd gen) still skipping everything while my cpu last :)
I’m still rocking my 4770k
Stuck on windows 10 for it though
10700k OC’d to 5.0 all core, still going strong with a 3070 in 1440p. Probably upgrading to a 4070 super when that comes out. That will be the real test for the 10700k.
What cooler do you have for the 10700k?
The water cooled 2 can corsair. Don’t remember the number probably like h100 or something i think. It didn’t like the oc on air i tried.
I am typing this post on my 2500K, and that is still my “fastest” desktop PC. :o
I went from a 4690K to a 10600K. I’ll be waiting for a similar jump in time.
I also was on a GTX 970 and I’m still on a GTX 1070. As soon as there’s a date for GTA 6, I’ll be doing a whole system update ready for then.
Still got my 4790k with a GTX 1660 which Im using as a NAS server and my 7700k with a 2070 which I gave to my daughter for her schooling. Went to 12900K last year and 4070Ti this February 2023. 4080 and 4090’s price is way off the chart for me. 😅
Yeah, me. I’m on a 10500 and is planning to go to a 7800x3d/15700/AMD’s new 8000 series cpus. Depends which one gives the best bang for the buck. This 10500 has served me well, and can give a solid 140fps on 1080p.
I have a retired 12700kf and I went to 14700k for my absolute newest, BUT I still game and even work with my 10850k build. An absolute beast of a cpu and honestly I just build often, my 10th Gen is still absolutely amazing and will no doubt last for more years to come.
Still on a 10400f….yeah it’s weak and holds my 7800xt back…but prices for 1200 CPUs are still too high, and I really don’t care to upgrade my motherboard and ram.
Out of curiosity, what do you use to cool your cpu and what is your psu? (I’d be willing to buy a slightly better cpu if the price was right)
My 10700k is overclocked to 4.9ghz all core and is cooled by a Noctua NH-D14 that I’ve had for like 12 years now lol. My PSU is a Corsair HX1000i that I’ve had since 2020.
Got a decent deal for a Z690 board during Cyber Monday. As “exciting” as 15th gen may be, I never really buy current gen tech anyway, primarily from a financial standpoint. 9900k is still running strong, but I can also repurpose it. The 13700k(f?) seems like a good upgrade! Especially with eyes on the 40 Supers.
10900k 5.1ghz all core. 4090. no need to jump the gun yet. Prices are quite high for motherboards
