It would be an absolute miracle to have a “guide” for installing and using Metroid Primehack on Linux desktop. It is a modified version of Dolphin made to allow mouse and keyboard controls when playing Prime Trilogy. There exists a guide for the Steam Deck (involving an app called EmuDeck), but not for the Linux Desktop. I’m using Arch, and there is an AUR package for Primehack, but it’ currently broken, it fails to build. So I’m trying to figure out how to install it locally, it officially supports linux. There are instructions for how to do this on Primehack’s github page, as well as another popular launcher for it called PrimehackUpdater, but they confuse me. To be honest I have grown dependent on Arch’s repos and yay, every time I see “local install” on linux install instructions I can fully expect to be sent down a rabbit hole of confusion. I have no idea what it’s asking of me or where to start. And I know I can’t just expect to input those commands and automatically have Primehack. I have the files ready and my copy of the game too, just need help getting a portable linux Primehack up and running using their official install instructions.

There’s a flatpak package also. If you are in KDE, go to Discover Software Center, search for primehack, install, launch and you are ready to go I guess.
