Going through this journey I got a lot of recommendations claiming those things are THE HEADPHONES and nothing can beat it and… And sometimes I get a little disappointed for spending loads of bucks at a “meh” headphone. But I can’t blame them, I know that one thing that is good for one may not be for the other.

I see people asking this question about the “best”, but audio and music are very subjective. That’s why we get many different answers and there is no “better headphones”. So for YOU, what’s the best audio device and you love to listen in them?

Hifiman HE6se (with a bit of EQ at 2k and 4k) is the best for me. Most natural sounding treble with deep and clean bass. I listen to pretty much everything. They do great on all genres imo. Some people may find them not bright enough and lack some airiness but I’m (upper)treble sensitive so it’s actually perfect for me!

Just adding to the numerous mentions of Sundara, which are my current cans (I have an upgrade on the way for xmas though). Have loved them for 3 years, they’ve been built like a tank and pulled onto the hard floor by the cables by the dog running past half a dozen times, I listen to many genres but mostly synthwave/darkwave/electronic/metal/power metal/melodic metal/rock/post-rock/dark rock/punk/synthpunk/indie (yeah I know vaguest genre in the world can mean anything), no EQ, there is nothing they can’t do imo

“I listen to many genres but mostly…” proceeds to name every genre

I used to use Grado GW100 daily but now I feel enough with my Truthear Hexa for listening to music (mostly Grunge and J-Rock) and monitoring my guitar

Fidelio X1 for everything especially gaming rock and EDM. Sometimes I pull out the 58x or 560S to mix things up, usually over it after a few hours though.

Even though I usually use headphones, I think the Monarch Mk III is the most capable device I’ve ever used. It’s tuned incredibly out of the box, and you can easily EQ it to anything you like with the wide array of driver capabilities. For over the ears, probably the Expanse coming in close second.

    Monarch mk2.

I sold almost everything else because of this iem. Coz its so good that I dont feel like i want to use anything else, and i have tried and own some other iems that cost 2-3 times the price.

I mainly listen to pop, jazz, classical.

I use my U12T as my daily drivers while listening to music at work, and my KSC75 for gaming and listening to music casually.

I used to wear my headphones often but I’ve discovered that I much prefer everything to be convenient and comfortable over all else. (Also, the U12T does not seem like a big compromise over wearing my headphones)

I like sennheiser’s IE lineup of their iem’s. got the 40 and when it broke got the 100 to replace it got the 400 when it was on sale and it just sits well on my ears. It so comfortable i dont really care if people say it sounds lifeless cause i enjoy my music fine. I listen to a variety of music from UK Folk, Indie, general Pop music, Metal, and Rock. Its fine unless you have problems cause sennheiser’s new owners is crap when it comes to customer service

I know the physical difference between headphones and IEM’s. But what about sound? Can’t you expect quality sound from IEM’s?
