I was curious to know what everyone’s favourite game trailer is be it because of the cinematography or how hyped it made you for an upcoming release.

I thought I’d focus on a few oldies (15ish years) that people may be less familiar with or have forgotten.

Dead Island: I feel like this is one of the most famous gaming trailers, absolutely nothing to do with the game but stunning none the less - https://youtu.be/lZqrG1bdGtg?feature=shared

Halo Reach: A trailer that really drives home the scale and hopelessness that Reach was trying to achieve. If the TV show looked as good and felt as raw as this I doubt there would be as much backlash - https://youtu.be/18-_9E0HNY4?feature=shared

Assasins Creed Revelations: The culmination of both a trilogy and quadilogy of games, the trailer sets up for an epic conclusion - https://youtu.be/HMsbMK9Odoc?feature=shared

Fallout 3: This served as a completely new direction to the Fallout franchise and executed a masterful reveal - https://youtu.be/zPt08UYmyMo?feature=shared

I’ve always been a big fan of trailers where you don’t necessarily know what it’s a trailer for at first, and then there’s a huge reveal. (Assuming you’re watching it at some sort of event, and not on youtube or something where you can see the title of the trailer.)

One of the first that comes to mind in that regard is the trailer from the Game Awards revealing Joker for Smash Ultimate. You know right away it’s something Persona 5 related, but you don’t know exactly what until near the very end, where the envelope turns around and shows the smash logo.

Honestly, a lot of the smash ultimate DLC trailers are like that, but I still think Joker is one of the best.
