I’m looking to buy a 991.1 in the next year and am obsessively scrolling through online listings. It looks like the vast majority of cars have a dark interior. No judgement cause my current car does too, but I love how you can see interior details with a lighter color and the contrast with the exterior is so nice. Am I alone on this one?
I love the Porsche two-tone interiors, with the black dash and top of doors, and the rest of the interior in red, tan, etc.
All tan or all red is way too much, imo.
Black and Tan is just delicious!
It really is!
Graphite blue!!!
Bro I saw one in the listings and it was so beautiful
Porsche eliminated tan dashboards after a class-action settlement with people claiming too much glare.
After that point, you couldn’t get a tan dashboard any longer.
I’m also seeing that I can buy a black cap for the dash if need be
Honestly go with any color you prefer, as long as that color is black 😜
I think most people are afraid of the upkeep on a light colored interior. I’ve got tan in my 991. It’s really not that bad though. You just have to stay on top of it.
I’m 18 and since I was born we have never had anything but White/Beige interiors. Our cars were never dirty—even when they became like 8-10 years old.
Same we had a mixture of interiors but parents are big car people so cared a lot about keeping the cars pristine. No eating in the car, no dirty shoes, weekly (apart from in the winter) cleans.
I do the same with my car now, it’s got a light interior however the floor mats are very quite muddy now due to my job as a pizza driver in a rural area
Y’all are definitely making me think. Mostly that I’ll have to be careful
Tan’s great as long as the dash is black
You know, I’ve never thought about that but i just googled it and my last tan interior did have a black dash
Had a full tan loaner, good god that is blinding in the Southern California midday sun.
But it’s less hot than a black leather interior in that wonderful SoCal sun? Asking because I live in the cloudy Midwest and my parents always had tan interiors because “black gets too hot in the summer”. But I’m not sure if that’s actually true. I like tan, so I’ve always stuck with it.
I have a full Carrera red interior IN SoCal and it’s fine. No idea what you are talking about.
Glad I’m not the only one noticing this. I prefer tan interiors, but black is basically standard. Probably more in other cars than Porsches. When looking at new cars with friends, some don’t even have tan as an option. Honda Civic and Kia telluride for example.
As long as you don’t have children :)
He’s grown
I always thought when you’re asked what color interior, and you reply “no”, you get tan.
With so many grey cars, tan falls behind. Grey/Tan? One day, I’ll spec my deep green, and go brown on the inside.
I’ve got an Aventurine Green with Truffle Brown Club leather 992 and its 🤌
Gray is an exception but white, black, red, and blue all look good
Silver, definitely not. However grey, particularly dark grey, can look good with a tan interior. I saw a graphite grey Z4 on tan and it popped.
My wife has a black GLC43 AMG with tan and it looks great.
I had a 1986 guards red on tan and in my opinion, it is an absolute classic combo.
My M4 is Dravit Grey and I originally wanted tan, but the M carbon seats aren’t available in tan, so I got the Silverstone interior.
Guards and tan for the win! With you, just in my 36 years less mature car.
Dude guards red and tan is what I want. It looks amazing!
Guards Red and tan, Luxor Beige leather to be precise. You have good taste on your wish list.
Tan looks great, especially with a dark exterior. I went with tan primarily due to wanting to keep cooler in the hot California sun. My 981 Boxster S is dark blue metallic with a Luxor beige interior and dark blue top.
I was at a fast food restaurant and a guy parked his 911 next to my Cayman
It had a white exterior and tan interior
I never considered that combo before in my life but that is now one of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen
I had a Cayman with the sand beige interior. It was a daily driver. Cleaning blue jean dye off the seats annually was a PITA. So, my current 991 has black seats.
I prefer tan but seems like they only produce black 98% of the time.
People have this untrue assumption that black cars and black interiors sell easier and clean better.
None of that is true.
Black cars show scratches like no other and black leather shows wrinkles like no other.
But lets say none of that is true.
People when buying a car do not prefer black on black. End of story.
Any interior color other that white or black is the easiest and any exterior color but black is better at hiding scratches.
