Im not much of a gamer (ironically I make games for a living) but I made a bet with my kids that if the Detroit Lions make the playoffs this year I’ll buy them a system, and its looking like almost a lock to happen, so I want to get in on some Holiday deals.
This is their first non-Nintendo system so I’m a little lost on which way to go at this point in the generation cycle. For reference they’re 7 and 9 year old boys and are gonna be new to gaming that isnt based around crafting or Italian brothers. (i made them use my old NES, then SNES first, then got them a Switch a couple years back)
Well its up to you but i would go with xbox though. Now hear me out ps fans i grew up with a ps3 and xbox 360 and i loved both consoles and both had great games and all but i came to the conclusion that ps3 and 4 tend to break much easier in everyday use and that i learned when our first ps3 died and then our ps4 hard drive died and we lost every game and saves but our old 360 slim is still going strong.
So i would say xbox is better in my opinion (and if possible i reccomend getting series x because its better but i own a series s and its very good for its price) also xbox has game pass which is much better than ps+ trust me. And finally xbox has halo so… Yea and i can say that i grew up playing halo and its the best series of games i have ever played
(long story short xbox is better in my opinion)
I think PS break if you don’t take care of them properly. The SSD/hard drives are notorious for breaking if not shutting down all the way before unplugging. May be a good teaching opportunity on how to care for technology (and extension one’s own possessions properly)
