Just got back to Civ 5 and could not record any game over the last 3-4 years I was invested in.
It’s so hard just trying to find the time… and then when you progress a decent amount into a game life just crops up. It’s so hard to pick a game up a couple of weeks later after being away from it 😅
To answer the question though, probably Final Fantasy XIV or RDR2.
Disco Elysium. 40M.
I looked into this game a while ago and nothing about it appealed to me. The slow pacing, the gameplay, the political content. It slid down to the bottom of my must-play list.
Then I drunkenly decided to gave it a shot a few weeks ago. When my character died while trying to retrieve a tie from a ceiling fan, I knew this game was something special.
I just beat it a few days ago, and the ending where you get to talk to… Ahem… “it”. I almost shit my pants at how cool it was. chef kiss. Absolutely phenomenal game.
I haven’t played last of us and finished it over last week. It was great. I bought part 2 during Black Friday and spent 20 on it. Knowing I’ll spend another 10 for the ps5 remaster. I just can’t see them charging less than 49.99 for It on the ps store. I can wait a month and a half for it. I loaded it. Felt a bit plastic in comparison to the 1st one. So stopped before anything really started. I’ll play far cry 6 until then. Not a big hurry.
Other games. Re villiage on the psvr2. Was blown away. But it’s about the only vr experience I’ve had outside of google cardboard.
Alan wake 2 was amazing. Also been liking cities skylines 2 and cs2.
The older I get the more sim racing becomes my jam.
Horizon Forbidden West
Replaying RDR2 on PC, modded. Amazing.
Before that I guess I could say Baldur’s Gate 3, then Midnight Suns, and prior to that, Elden Ring? Fortunately there’s been something popping up every so often that really grabs my attention.
Alan Wake 2, BG3, RDR2 are popular in that age range
Playing since 1995, it’s harder over the time to get immersed/invested in by a videogame
It was Guild Wars : Nightfall, I’ve spent 10 000 hours over 7 years on itBut in the few years, some games gave me this little spark that every old gamer are searching for:
- Baldur’s Gate 3 (even if I dont like this kind of game, I have to admit it’s a masterpiece.)
- Mass Effect 1,2 3 (not Andromeda)
- Deus Ex: Human Revolution
- Max Payne 3
- Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order (bc I like the old trilogy)
- Cyberpunk 2077
Also rediscovering some classics:
- Homeworld: Remastered Collection
- Deus Ex 1 (with Revision mod)
- Command & Conquer: Remastered Collection
- Battlezone: Combat commander
- Metal Gear Solid : Master Collection
- Mafia: Definitive EditionHaven’t been able to Baldurs Gate 3 down since it dropped for PS5. Half-ish way through my second playthrough and already planning my third.
49, Far Cry 5 and Crysis 1 (replay, because of the remastered version)
Still on totk (200+ hours) and recently started world of horror. Gamer since the 80s
I’m 46, got through Pixel Perfect Remasters of Final Fantasy 3 & 4 since I hadn’t played FF4 since I was a kid and the nostalgia was heavy. Also, finally got into Titanfall 2 and beat it in 3 evenings, great freaking game and see why it pops up on forum chat by people who wish a third Titanfall had happened. Been trying not to buy new games and working through a backlog on Steam. Currently playing Satisfactory, Bloodbourne, Deep Rock Galactic, and Mario Kart since the final DLC maps dropped.
Elden Ring, Sekiro, Bloodborne, Days Gone, so many.
The first Remnant game. Been playing with a friend. Co-op games are my favorite
