Is there a reason we haven’t been using Cordarelle at all? I’m not even trying to critique Smith here or anything, but is there some type of injury that is preventing us from playing CP? I seem to remember him having an injury preseason or something, but checking the depth chart he’s just listed as 3rd string RB with no injury notes.

Has he just regressed to where he’s not worth playing anymore unless Bijan or Allgeire gets injured? Or is it understood that he’s injured and will be back at some point?

I know it makes sense for him to be 3rd string because those other 2 are just better as pure RBs, but it seemed like we were scheming all kinds of plays for CP in 2021 and 2022. Is he just not viable anymore?

i suspect we want him as fresh as possible for the end of the season & playoffs as someone else mentioned. he seemed to slow down late in the season the past year or two due to his age, so if we can have him at 100% in december & january he should absolutely punish worn down defenses with the way he plays. the saints game was a taste of that

Figure it out my man. We don’t sustain drives long enough to use the weapons we have. Last games was different. You see the difference? We moved the ball and our run game was flowing and picking up first downs. Sustained drives! Sustained drives allow guys to get 2-3 touches then sub out and get another guy 2 touches and then another guy. Hes 3rd RB/Gadget man. Hes never going to get 10 touches a game. He did last year because it was him and TA most of the year. Caleb a bit too. Now you add BR and he’s 3. He ain’t complaining. He’s ballin when he gets oppos. That comes from competent offense tho.

He’s 32, and had a lingering injury earlier in the season so he’s been slowly worked back in.

I also suspect Smith is trying to find a good rotation for all three backs.

He’s been recovering from injury, but just had a decent sized share of carries vs the saints and ran like an animal.

Imma keep it real with you CP should have been traded a long time ago. He actually should have been traded at the deadline. He’s a good player but what’s the purpose of having a good running back as your number 3. He barely plays especially now that we drafted Bijan

Because he doesn’t have much trade value and is a huge locker room presence and loves the falcons. He’s always trying to recruit guys to come here too. He just brings more value than we could get in a trade for him.

Bc the trade value of a 32 year old RB off an injury who’s never been successful in any scheme but Arthur Smith’s is probably around a 6th round pick. Also, he’s a vet presence who everyone loves, team and fans

He’s getting as many touches as he should at his age, better to use him sparingly and have him available all year.

How many touches should a 33yr old gadget guy get when we have 3 highly invested in draft picks, that already arent used as much as they should be? We couldnt possibly take touches away from stud guys like Jonnu and Allegeier.

See I’m not implying “he should be getting more touches” I’m more asking why he isnt. I get that our talent utilization hasn’t been optimal, but I’m solely asking about CP

Because… coach ain’t putting him in. It’s the reason everyone who isn’t being utilized doesn’t get utilized. The fans don’t choose who goes in and plays the coach does

Iirc, he was injured and didn’t play the first few weeks of the season. Then I think the reason he hasn’t been playing much is because AS just doesn’t use him for whatever reason. It could be because AS is trying to keep CP and other elite players fresh for end of the season/possible post season games.

I wish we would see him more, he’s an elite player. Honestly… if we had him returning kicks/punts during the Titans game were we kept getting it at like the 5/10 yard line… we probably wouldn’t have been getting it at the 5/10 yard line and closer to the 20.

I’m hoping since we saw him a decent amount more against the Aints we will start seeing him more.

He’s not a punt returner no reason to even mention using him there. At this stage in his career I’d rather him see less violent special teams snaps so let’s not start that now. Let him return kicks all he wants he might actually take those for 6.

Injury early in the season and age are probably keeping him on a snap count.

And this is just my opinion, but I think we were also trying to keep him as healthy as possible up to the trade deadline… I don’t necessarily think we were trying to trade him, but if a team called with interest in CP, it’s worth it to listen…
