I was tempted to flair this as “satire,” but apparently this analyst thinks it’ll happen.

Quote: “The Bears could have a conundrum at the quarterback spot on their hands in the offseason, but I have a solution.
In this mock, the Bears do what is probably best for the future of the team and Justin Fields himself: They trade him to give him a fresh start, and get some early picks in the process. Given how hyped the quarterback class is, Chicago – likely holders of two top five picks – shouldn’t pass on a young, talented and inexpensive option at the game’s most vital position.”

Yeah, never mind looking at the Raiders’ perspective in this pipe-dream. We have way too many areas that need addressed, including the gaping holes along our O-line.

I’d rather use those picks to build the team out then waste them on a prospect that’s not good enough. We already have Jimmys contract (28.5) and we’re gonna likely eat Hoyers 2.6…Why add more dead weight.

Honestly, I’ve been calling for this for awhile. Fields is capable of significantly more than what he’s accomplished in Chicago. Give him some weapons, give us our first mobile qb since Pryor who wasn’t really even a qb. A 2nd round pick hell no, but a 4th round pick it’s a no brainer

The first question is, if the Bears move on from fields, does any team want him as a starter?

I know I don’t want him as the Raiders starter. That said, at his salary ($3.2M next year, then a FA after that), I personally wouldn’t be mad about trading for Fields as a 1 year rental as O’Connell’s backup, I actually kind of like having a more mobile QB as the backup, but I certainly would not give up a 2nd round pick.
