I was pretty disappointed with Starfield, I had high expectations for it, but I think my most disappointing gane is P5 Tactica. I love Persona 5, I love tactics games, I don’t like Tactica at all. I didn’t think the Persona 5 well would ever run dry for me, but apparently it has.
Hogwarts legacy. Not because it was the worst game this year but because it had so much potential that it just dropped. It plays like a bunch of MMORPG devs tried to make a single player game. And falls short of what it could have been. Starfield wasn’t that hard to predict. Bethesda is far from what they were when skyrim was released and they weren’t the best back then either.
Totally agree with you. I spent £54 on it for the steam deck I have played 3.4 hours and honestly I was just so bored. There must of been about 30 minutes of actual gameplay we I could do something not just stand in the exact same spot and talk to people
Bluey
Idk. I had high hopes for every single game that released. But think the only thing that disappointed me was anything that came out as a live service.
I’ve played games like Redfall and Gollum but they didn’t necessarily disappoint me. They were just laccing
i only played re4, ff16 and lies of p. ff16 would be my weakest of the three
Final Fantasy XVI easily. It starts off so promising and just never lives up to its potential.
D4. The most cowardly game ever made. It’s better to bad than to be bland. AB took 0 risks trying to expand make what 3 did well, and use the legs of D2.
Instead we got what feels like a proof of concept without any meat. A stat (or affix/suffix/prefix-)system that is really surface level and at the same time needlessly contrived, that’s the only risk they took, where the formula those concepts have been robust, usable, expandable and more importantly commonly understood. THAT’S where they changed stuff?! They fixed a problem that hasn’t been a problem since the 70’s…
Cyberpuke 2.0
I think Starfield will improve over time, that said it’s up on my list too.
For me TOTK but I didn’t play any of the “big” disappointments. I was as hyped as can be for Totk. But it just comes out… incoherent.
Im like 100 comments in and no has said Gollum yet? I mean LOTR is what, top 10 largest IP and that garbage came out? There are better free games on my cellphone than that “game” and I didnt even play more than 5 minutes before returning it.
Wanna hear something funny? I was at work awhile back and I saw on our snack section there were some bags of doritos. More specifically, some dorito’s bags that had ads on them.
On the Spicy Nacho bag, there was a picture of Doom eternal.
On the Nacho Cheese bag, there was a picture of Starfield.
I literally thought to myself “That accurately describes the games.”
Doom eternal: Spicy, Hot, Skill Based, and is quite literally an FPS standard to hold.
Starfield: Boring, uninspired drivel that’s bland as fuck.
Wo long : Fallen dynasty.
As someone that played Nioh 2 to death, I would have been fine if it was just Nioh 2 but in China. Now, I understand that they were trying to do a Sekiro, but it just didn’t work here because Sekiro has Sekiro and in Wo long you’re just some insert.
Technically, it was pretty sound but because they were doing a Sekiro, the fighting ended up being so heavily focused on the deflect mechanic and spamming magic that build variation was rendered pointless - which is big draw for the Nioh heads.
Has to be Diablo 4 for me. I put 1000+ hours into Diablo 3, and was genuinely looking forward to playing it. And then, it just got… Boring. Barely any endgame. Servers were garbage. The cash shop is a joke. I hate the codex system of having to run a dungeon to get a power, just give me the powers… lack of inventory space in a LOOTER is a nightmare waiting to happen…
They dropped the ball so hard.
Starfield let me down almost as much as spore did when it released.
