I really want to like this genre for some reason. I’ve played a couple of soulslike/adjacent soulslike games, and I like the fights and stuff, but I really struggle with exploration and backtracking. I’m someone who prefers being guided on a path or atleast knowing where I’m going. I can’t make maps in my brain and remember specific locations, and it’s such a barrier to entry for me. I know I’m missing out on games I may enjoy, but I try them for a few hours, get lost or don’t know where to go to/look up, and feel frustrated. I should mention that I am autistic, and find this more frustrating than fun, but I feel like I’m missing out. The art direction in some of these games looks really cool and I like the vibe, but I’m just stuck on this barrier to entry

Your taste in gameplay troubles me. Just play Uncharted. A game like Uncharted or Last of Us seems much more up your alley.

Sorry it troubles you I guess, it’s something I’m trying to get more into, that’s why in further comments I’ve asked for tips on getting into soulslikes and RPG’s in general.
