As above
Spore when It became a RTS like gsme
Final Fantasy XV.
Bioshock Infinite, Booker has to die, so every version of Comstock will die.
It makes no sense whatsoever, that’s not how parallel worlds work even inside of that game.
Hell in the Burial At Sea DLC we see that at least one Comstock did survive.
Booker becomes Comstock though so clearly if you kill booker he cannot become Comstock. Please correct me though; I haven’t played that game since shortly after its official release on the xbox and i remember the story was very convoluted.
Same here…initially, I was captivated by its stunning visuals, intriguing setting in the floating city of Columbia, and the dynamic between the main characters.
The twist towards the end, involving the multiverse and the revelation about Booker and Comstock’s relationship, felt overly complex and somewhat disjointed from the rest of the game.
It left me with mixed feelings, as it seemed to undermine the strong narrative foundation built up to that point.IDK it made sense to me
There’s a Comstock in Burial at Sea? Where? I don’t remember seeing that.
The Booker in Burial At Sea episode 1 was a version of Comstock who, instead of managing to get baby Elizabeth from a version of Booker with Elizabeth losing the tip of her finger, this version she lost her head, Comstock had killed a version of his own child, guilt ridden he asked the Luteces to send him somewhere else, that place being Rapture, where he took up his old name and forgot his past, he only remembered who he was right at the end, where he apologized to mainline Elizabeth, but Elizabeth didn’t care, she just wanted him dead, and he was immediately killed by a drill to the back from a Big Daddy he thought was dead.
Yeah this is my choice too. I distinctly remember disliking Bioshock Infinite the further I got in it. The problems really started showing for me when they attempted to ‘both sides’ the situation by having Daisy-Mae become a villain. And from there the plot only became more convoluted until the ending which just felt like pretentious mess. I was so done by the end of it.
I haven’t played infinite since finishing it once because of that. It’s a shame really, because I do like to replay the first two at times. It just felt like they wanted to outdo the “would you kindly” twist. However they went way overboard, they drifted away from all other themes of the story, and in the end it did not even make a whole lot of sense
La Noire gets messy once Phelps cheats on his wife. It was so much better as the detective drama but they had to include personal elements and questionable decisions from the main character (who I had grown to love).
Shadow of Mordor was a great game for 99% of it. Then you get to the last boss and it’s a quick time event. Like what the fuck is that? I would’ve played that game through 5 or 6 times by this point but I never played again after that last boss
Shadow of War was a very fun sequel to a very fun game.
But after >!you lose the ring and become a Nazghul, with a complete switch on your skills,!< I just lost interest and never went back.
That one was a struggle, especially if you play the dlcs as the other characters. They have like fixed skill trees that were totally opposite of the way I normally play. The endings were pretty cool but man that forced play style switch almost ruined it for me too.
Final Fantasy 16. The game is well rounded and awesome all the way up to the end; where the game suddenly decides that all those dozens of hours spent investing yourself into the world and characters, should be rewarded with a random final cutscene that takes place 100+ years in the future. Meanwhile, you get no closure for anything else that happens in the final act of the game. It just leaves you with the assumption that things turned out okay.
Far Cry 6 for me. This was the only Ubisoft series I played so I wasn’t experiencing burnout on their open world formula. Then the game not only tosses gear/armor load outs but they have different types of ammo.
I like Far Cry 4 and 5 because to me it was a simple shooting gallery game. But then on 6 they basically made a diet Borderlands. I forced myself to finish it since I payed full price, but the changes to the ammo system and introducing the gear/perk system really annoyed me and dampened my fun with it.
Star Ocean: Till the end of time.
The story twist that occurs roughly 80% into the story made me so mad, I actually still think about that a few times per year and it still gets my blood boiling. Even like 18-19 years later.
It’s a phenomenal game though in all other aspects, so it hurts especially since you invested so much into the game and the twist hits pretty late.
I still love my memory of playing that game, but could never get back into it.
I really liked the first 10 minutes of Outriders, then once you go back into cryo and wake up to what the game actually is I was instantly turned off.
Far Cry 4. The world is beautiful, and I love Far Cry gameplay, but I just didn’t like the story. I know you are supposed to dislike Amita and Sabal, but you are literally stuck with them until the final moment of the game. I’m not sure what I was supposed to feel at the end, but I remember feeling like I wasted my time. I literally replayed because I found out you could kill whoever you sided with after you got back to the open world, and I wanted to kill them both. I still feel waiting at the start is the best ending.
Red Dead redemption 2…when I knew what was going to happen I couldn’t continue anymore.
I played Might and Magic 7 all the time. Fantasy RPG in a dungeons and dragons universe? Sign me up! The twist? In the end your universe is being controlled by a horde of cybernetic robots and you had to level up your lazer shooting skills. All your efforts into leveling magic were for nothing. Then you go around and fight dragons with laser guns. Its just ridiculous and OP. Then end ruined the game.
Yes! Later I decided that the game is only worth playing until you learn to fly. Around that point the craziness happens.
I hated that so much as a kid first playing it! My party was so well kitted in the end and then just became insanely overpowered going pew pew pew all over the place. Who the fuck green lighted that?
Tlou 2 when i realized I had to play as abby for 3 days
FF15. I hate the way it ends. I hate it so much that I’m not sure I can ever finish it (I played the mobile version before the PC one, so that’s how I know how it ends).
