I think getting a steamdeck is a better option, unless you really really want to play some demanding games. Setting up TDP controls and some other features you might want from a console makes having some linux knowledge a enormous help.

It can, of course it depends what you are playing, but you can have a few hours on 2d games.
Are you asking if it plays games natively or streamed? If you are, it plays natively. Battery life will depend on what you are playing and settings.
