Lewandowski stats in La Liga: 30 goals in 46 Games (0.65)

Lewandowski in his last 2 seasons in Bundesliga: 76 Goals in 63 Games (1.23

Kane in 22/23: 30 Goals in 38 Games (0.78)

Kane in 23/24: 18 Goals in 12 Games (1.50)

As you guys can see, scoring in the Bundesliga is considerably easy

It proves if you put the best striker in the world in the most dominant team in the league, they’ll score loads. Kane and lewandowski both had amazing records before Bayern.

Last season the topscorer of the bundesliga made 16 goals. If you put one of the best attackers in the world in the best team of the bundesliga, they will score a lot of goals. But if you would put Kane or Lewandowski in a random Bundesliga team, I doubt they would reach this numbers.

Might also be bonuses in the contract of the players related to how much he scores… That for some teams or players make them more prone to make the goal themselves than giving away the goal to some others…

    1. Bayern Munich are a better team than spurs and Barcelona. At the times when both players played for the teams. E.g. 2021 bayern better than 2023 barcelona
    2. Different leagues have different styles of play e.g. more open.
    3. You need to consider the avg number of goals per game because it might be that more goals are scored in general in the bundesliga.
    4. Its one of the best leagues in the world, just because it is a bit worse than the two best leagues in the world doesn’t mean its a “statpadding” league, it is full of amazing footballers who have mastered they’re sport.

Not really, Lewa was with a great squad in Bayern and younger. Now he is 35 and Barca played lot of games with only 1 or 2 goals per game.

if Kane had this team behind him in the Premier League would’ve had the same numbers.

Not necesarilly, just because Lewa and Kane score at a higher rate. Lewa was also better when he played in the Bundes as he wasnt as old, he also had a different role and a much better team. Kane is similar in terms of him swithching roles and playing a much better team than Tottenham.

It’s really not that simple, nor the way to answer your question.

If you want to assess a whole league, then you have to analyze league stats and collective stats, and more advanced stats + tactical analysis. Goals scored by 2 players is way too short of an analysis.

German football typically has an attack-orientated, collective tactical mindset. Bundesliga’s reputation is that the games are open, a lot of goals are scored, the stadiums are full, etc. Quite an attractive league. But if you want to get intor the numbers, you have to go deeper than that.

Kane scored 30 goals last season for a team that finished 8th in the Premier League. He’s now playing for a team that goes into every single league match as the clear favourite to win.

Lewandowski had probably already peaked as a player at the point that he left Bayern Munich.

In general, the Bundesliga is a bit more open and attacking than La Liga, and the Premier Leauge. Here is a Reddit post from a month ago outlining this statistic.

So I guess on the one hand, you could say that a top striker going to Bayern would be “statpadding” as they would expect to score a lot more goals than pretty much in any other team, but that phrase belies the quality of the league itself.
