While watching the Lions played the Raiders, I developed a huge man crush for Maxx Crosby, and feel like he could be the piece to get my team over that last hump. He and Hutchinson would create an unbelievable defensive end pair, and he’d be a perfect thematic fit, originally being from Michigan and the type of hard-nosed, maxx effort player that the Lions are trying to build around.
Now, obviously those guys don’t grow on trees and I realize that with Crosby being one of the best players in the game, the Lions getting him as a pipe dream. Factor in that he is (probably) a fan-favorite and I get that there would be a lot of reticence to move on from him.
However, with the Raiders looking at a new coach next year, staring at a very unproven quarterback situation (I’m bullish on O’Connell though), they might be looking at a rebuild. Given they are in a division with Mahomes, Herbert, and… Um… Sean Payton, I guess… they really need to get the quarterback question answered, and in a draft with several good quarterback prospects, could look at using resources to get the QB they want.
So the question is, what capital would it take to pry Crosby away? Would he be obtainable with, say, two first round picks and James Houston (who has been injured this year but looks like a potentially dynamic pass-rushing threat)? Or should I just fuck right off with this bullshit and stay the hell away from that beautiful man? What sayeth Raider nation?
Yall really feel entitled after seeing a tiny bit of regular season success.
