I use a kindle, and I’ve slogged through a few pirated epubs, but I really have not had a good experience, many of them are barely readable, or formatted in ways that make it incredibly difficult.
Words running together, weird spacing, sometimes one paragraph will end and just run right into the next chapter on the same line without the chapter title even showing.
If picking through epubs is this finicky I’ll probably give up. I don’t mind buying my books for the most part anyway.
Not sure where you are downloadong from and which kindle you are using. The latest kindles support epubs but I don’t know how well. In my experience, epub books from overdrive convert just fine for kindle.
