If you ever have to deal with large businesses such as banks ,insurance companies energy providers that have phone automation a lot of them have their system set up to expediate results they want and punish ones they don’t , for instance if you ring up to upgrade or open an account or become a new customer you will be put straight through if you ring up to cancel your account after you press that option you’ll be put on hold for ages and played shitty music especially picked to annoy the hell out of you in the hopes you will give up and try again later , so now whenever I have to deal with them I always pick an option that they would want and then when I get transfered to that person I apologise and say I pressed the wrong number and usually they will transfer me internally within the system which saves you a heap of time and aggravation
