I know, I know, they had a steam controller at one point. But I want a controller with everything that the steam deck has, if that’s even possible. I legitimately use every button and track pad on this thing, and I would kill to have a wireless controller that had these features.

Dualsense Edge is the next best thing imo for docked mode. It’s got pretty much every feature that the Steam Deck has, minus a couple buttons.

I agree. I won’t buy a dock until they come out with a controller with track pads and it mimics the steam decks controller ui

The PS4 & PS5 controller is a good substitute. Especially if with the PS5, you can get a plug in keyboard,

If replacement trackpads were available I’d design one and shove the schematics and software on GitHub but alas they aren’t and the money people want for second hand trackpads is a bit much

I have left steamdeck for Legion go but still play my RTS using the steam controller just because that’s how good the trackpads are.

    Missing 1 joystick on it.

A steam controller based on steam deck be a godsend for me.

Now I just bring my legion go screen and my SC. Best combi

It’s a lot of tech to put on a controller, now that i think about it. Makes the $400 original price for the cheapest deck absolutely insane.

The steam controller is already a great controller. I think having two joysticks and two separate trackpads would be overkill on a controller. We merging the trackpads with one joystick and the dpad seems like a great thing for the controller in my opinion we just need valve to bring back the old customization tools that big picture mode had for the steam controller.

I believe that was the Korean board classification thing, that turned out to be the Deck OLED.

I have a long USB extension I use when playing on my external display so that the Steam Deck is my controller.

(I also cannot go back to playing without access to the dual trackpads)

Which is part of the reason I prefer and always recommend USB-C hubs over Docks. Docks kinda tie your Deck to your desk/display proximity-wise.

You could technically use the extension on the dock’s connector too. But then you just paid “dock” prices for nothing.
