Hi guys, I know this question is ridiculous but I am serious. I read on a different subreddit that if the immigration thinks you can contribute to their country’s society there is big chance that they will allow you to come.

But I wonder can you contribute to a country’s society without living there yet? The only thing I know how foreigner can contribute to a country is by paying taxes but that is impossible if you are not working there so are there other ways?

I am thinking if I can contribute to a country I am planning to immigrate to, even little by little, I will have a bigger chance to move there especially I am from a 3rd world country

Yes you can. There are ways to do so.

Paying taxes is an obligation, not a contribution

In countries where this principle is applied, it is spelled-out clearly in their immigration rules in terms of preferred professions or levels of investment. It’s not a “he’d be a nice guy to have around” sort of thing.

Well, I can say Canada is looking for trades people (carpenters/brick layers…), there’s a major shortage of trade’s people in Canada.
