I’ll preface this by saying I don’t watch much LaLiga these days, so wanted to get everyone’s opinion on this.

Just watched the Barcelona vs Atletico game and while very entertaining, it looked to me like any top half Premier League team would easily dominate either side. Loads of space and misplaced passes, unorganized defending, many simple through balls or long passes lead to a scoring opportunity.

Considering these are top teams in La Liga, is the gap in quality between the two leagues getting much wider? Looking ahead with the Premier League maintaining enormous spending power over all other leagues, it will be interesting to see if this can translate to European cup domination for English teams in the foreseeable future.

Atletico Madrid are a burden to watch. Much better to watch Madrid. Genrona, Sevilla or Barcelona matches. BTW heads up the previous to previous season a La Liga team beat 3 PL teams to win the UCL so the gap isn’t that big. Also, these PL teams can easily dominate La Liga or Messi can’t play PL-type discussions have been happening for 10+ years now and its simply false lol

Look at the champions league record. The big teams across Europe hold up but the overall quality of the premier league is higher these days because theres so much money involved

They literally said their opinion was only from one match (so they knew it might be wrong). The first sentence is them asking for everyone else’s opinions. Lol.

You were unlucky last night. Atleti played their worse game of 2023 last night. They are much much better than they were. Few years ago RM, Barca and Atlético used to much much better than the lower and mid table laliga teams but the gap is closing and lower teams has improved a lot.

Due to European competitions it’s hard to happen but I’d love to see Sociedad or Valencia vs wolves or Brentford. Would be very interesting

You also have to take into account a Spanish team wouldnt play the same against another Spanish team than a english team because they study playing styles of each team… It’s hard to say one is better than another, unless we match each team up one for one.

One thing is for sure there’s a fuck load more dirty money being pumped into the PL but equally as much corruption in la liga. I do sometimes wish the PL had la liga refs though

Yeah, I mean last year 2 of the 3 european cups were won by PL teams. This year I wouldn’t be surprised if it is 3
